I do something similar but not only for skill challenges, but for accomplishments in general.

You rescue the major&#039;s daughter? Add one point/token to your reputation with the Major and in the Town.

I&#039;ll then figure out how these are relevant or &quot;cashed in&quot; as you put it.

The main thing of this is:
 - have the player a measure of his accomplishment
 - decouple the success of the player and the winging of the DM</description>

		<description>The +2 might be the GM&#039;s best friend, but I agree that it gets old fast. I really like this idea. Players like manipulatives too. Anytime you can give them a tangible reward improves the entire experience.</description>

		<description>Really like the idea, and look forward to using that in my gameplay.  I like the creative ideas that my PCs come up with, and coming up with successes is not always difficult for me...but I think the bonus comes through as a bit more rewarding for the PCs and lets me have some extra control over the story.  All in all, I&#039;d say that&#039;s some great advice.  ;)</description>
