I want to take a little time to introduce you to a project I’ve been working on. I’ve done work here on skill challenges, but I’m not alone in being interested in this mechanic, nor am I alone in having things to say. So I built the Skillforge. Why? Well…
Let’s face it: There are a lot of questions about what skill challenges are and are not, and even more questions about how to run them. Skillforge helps to collect as many of these resources together in one place as possible.
We provide an RSS feed of the latest posts in the blogosphere regarding skill challenges, and soon we will have a database where you can view and select skill challenge templates, with skill DCs set at a level of your choosing.
To summarize, the Skillforge will consist primarily of two things: The RSS feed with the latest skill challenge articles from a number of blogs, and a database application that lets the community share skill challenges.
The site is really lean and mean now, but there is a lot of great stuff planned. Like with 4eTopia, I envision it as a great resource for 4e players to get skill challenges on the fly, learn more abuot skill challenges, and elevate what is known and what is discussed regarding skill challenges.
The main thing we are missing…is you! If you’ve got something that you want to share with the community regarding skill challenges, then contact us and let us know!
As an example of the goodies the Skillforge does and will offer, I present you with…The Skill Challenges of War, in PDF form after it’s stint on the Core Mechanic. Enjoy!

I’ve been meaning to contact you about getting your impression/input/feedback on a series of skill challenges around a murder mystery I attempted to adapt to 4e and customize.
I know you’ve got a lot of plates spinning right now (I know I do), but I thought I’d at least plant that seed for future consideration.
Sweet, but I can’t find the site’s RSS feed anywhere…?
I shall correct that, but in the meantime:
