I feel that the book makes wizards much better, but it's not as overall essential as Martial Power is. I'll need to really spend a lot more time with it and using it, but that's my first impression. Variations on the Arcane classes are the last thing I need now. I'm going to hold off purchasing this book. The reviews seem to be mixed, but there are enough mediocre ones that I'm hesitant. I'll wait for the Character Builder to get updated with all of the goodies from Arcane Power, check them out that way, and then decide if I feel owning this book is necessary.
